Char Restaurant at Hotel Andaluz was a pleasant surprise during our stay in Albuquerque. What We Loved: • 5-Star Burger – Juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Easily one of the best burgers we had on our trip. • 5-Star Takeout Service – The ordering process was simple, efficient, and our food was prepared quickly and accurately. • 5-Star Location – Conveniently located inside Hotel Andaluz, making it a great option for hotel guests or anyone exploring downtown Albuquerque. Sometimes a restaurant doesn't need a long review—it just gets everything right. Would We Return? Absolutely. Great food, great service, and a convenient location make Char an easy recommendation.

This restaurant has subtle yet inviting décor, paired with food and service that truly shine. The breakfast tacos were a delight, not only colorful on the plate but also bursting with flavor, leaving me satisfied without feeling heavy. The biscuits and gravy (I remember there being eggs too, I could be wrong) stood out as well, with a unique twist that left a pleasantly lingering taste. Our server was very pleasant, polite, and made sure we had everything we needed. A spot I’d gladly return to and encourage others to experience.

Mya was a great server during our visit. I got the biscuits and gravy and it was the best I've ever had and was very unique with the chile addition and fried egg. The drinks were well made and the Pan de Muerto dessert was literally to die for. Can't wait to come back.

My wife made reservations for my birthday and it was a great experience! Without having to mention it ourselves, Chris, our server, greeted us and immediately wished me a happy birthday. He was very attentive the whole night without being overbearing. We ordered the bone marrow as an appetizer (not a huge fan, but we wanted to stretch our comfort zone). For the entree, my wife ordered a wagyu sirloin, while I ordered a prime ribeye. The ribeye was so tender!! The esquites as a side was to die for!!!! Birthday dessert was complimentary, which was very nice. Overall, great experience!

Char is a beautiful restaurant. We had 5pm reservations for Valentines day. We started with the roasted beet salad which was delicious and colorful. They had special cocktails and my date had a lovefool which was amaretto based and had a great citrus taste We both had steaks, I had NY strip and she had waygu. The hot stone cooking is fun although the tables do get cluttered. We also had the Chile flight which was terrific, the pave potatoes were ok and the only thing I wouldn't order again. The churros with peanut butter ice cream were incredible and highly recommended Our server was savanna and she was fantastic. Very sweet and cheerful and explained everything well. A very bubbly and enthusiastic personality, we appreciated her very much I don't know if they do this every time but all diners got 2 chocolate coins which could be redeemed for sparkling wine or mocktail in upstairs bar or lobby location. We hung out for a bit afterwards in the downstairs area and they had live music. Char is beautiful and not cheap, with tip spent $190 for two but both of us really enjoyed it. We will be back

The Chile flight was a great way to try local NM chiles. I liked the Joe Baca best, followed by the Hatch green. I wasn't ready for the smoky chiles. I had the filet and ordered it Pittsburgh. It came out great, very pleased with the cook. A note however. The stone on which it is served is incredibly hot and it continued to cook while I was eating to about a medium rare. I would order at least one temp below what you normally like. The mushrooms were as expected. The feel for ME was in between stand-alone restaurant and hotel. It is not strictly fully enclosed by the hotel. Some of the tables are tight but my neighbors were locals and very very friendly. Overall a great experience, especially if the goal is to walk from near the convention center. Marina was awesome.

This was one of the most mesmerizing dinner experiences i've had in quite a while. (This experience has even surpassed my visit to the hell's kitchen in las vegas.) The drink presentation from the bar was so mesmerizing, and the second drink had an edible butterfly. Both were delectable and amazingly made, and they definitely can pour heavy ♡ , for all my non drinkers, don't worry, they serve all of the drinks with virgin options too so everybody can enjoy! They had a very expansive menu with a lot of different options, we both tried steak and the presentation was just out of this world, it comes on a hot plate that continues cooking the steak a little bit as you eat it, even comes with smoking rosemary for flavor!😍 After the main course, the dessert menu comes in a small glass case and is revealed by smoke via the server, although it's quite literally a very tiny miniature menu, it had quite a few good dessert options, i can't say that the biscount parfait and the arroz con leche are to die for♡♡♡ All of the food was absolutely delicious, even from the moment we sat in all of the stuff, we're kind helpful and seemed very happy to be there. We had the mostest superb server ever, shout out Chris, he really brought the kind energy and constantly made sure we always had everything we needed, Even left the cutest Lil Crane! Overall, if you want an amazing experience where you feel super special, or you need a good place for anniversary or date night. This is your place.

We had an amazing anniversary dinner here. I absolutely loved the food. It was the best steak I've had in albuquerque and the new mexico flare and sides are amazing too. And for dessert, I honestl did not know that rice pudding could taste like that!

Definitely a great experience, came here for our anniversary and will definitely be back. Despite the menu being small the flavors are so vibrant and the dishes all work together so well, the quality and care in each ingredient was shown throughout our entire experience. Our waitress was amazing, attentive, and did not rush us through our meal at all. The entire experience from start to finish felt very homey and welcoming. We got the NM Poutine for our appetizer and it was absolutely huge plenty enough to share and was amazing. Both of us got a Wagyu Sirloin on the lava rocks, the chimichuri sauce was to die for and the presentation was absolutely on point. The customization of adding your own salt, pepper, and variety of sauces and pickled onion was wonderful. The desserts were also a great portion and so well balanced. The peanut butter ice cream with the churros paired unbelievably well. And the pan de muerto was perfectly sweet with the berry sauce that balanced everything wonderfully. I love that everything is locally sourced and fresh the prices are well worth the quality and attentiveness in every dish.
